I've been arrested. What should I do?

A: If you have been arrested, you have the right to refrain from answering self-incriminating questions, but lying is always a bad choice. Answer all questions asked of you about your identification and do it truthfully.

  • name,
  • address,
  • birth date.

Also, be respectful towards the officer(s). Being arrested is very stressful. Harrassing the officer, or giving him/her, a hard time is not going to make anything better, especially for you.
